Three programmes

Choose the Depth That Fits Where You Are

A single weekend. Four evenings. Ten weeks. Each Willowmark programme stands alone — and each one builds a foundation the next can stand on.

Our methodology

How We Approach Every Programme

Willowmark's approach is built around the structured conversation — not a lecture, not a financial education course, and not therapy. We believe that most household money difficulties stem from conversations that have not happened, or happened badly, and that the remedy is almost always a better conversation.

Every programme begins from where participants actually are. Facilitators do not assume a common starting point. They create conditions where people can speak plainly — about what they know, what they avoid, and what they are uncertain about — and leave with tools to continue that conversation at home.

Materials are printed, not digital. Facilitators are trained for group conversation dynamics. Group sizes are kept small. And no programme includes any financial product, legal document, or advisory service.

Assess your readiness — each programme begins with a brief orientation so you understand what the session does and does not cover

Build through structured exercises — guided activities develop specific conversational skills, not abstract concepts

Take physical materials home — printed decks and worksheets are designed to support real conversations, not just recollection of what was said in the session

Continue at your pace — there is no expectation about when you have the conversation at home; the tools are yours to use when the moment is right

Programme One

The First Conversation Workshop

RM 580 per person

A weekend workshop for parents aged 40 and above preparing for a calm, structured first conversation with their adult children about household money matters. The workshop covers what to share, what to keep private, how to listen without becoming defensive, and where the conversation is likely to go next. All participants receive a printed conversation deck.

What Is Covered

  • Deciding what household financial information to share and at what level of detail
  • Framing the conversation so it does not feel like a disclosure or a warning
  • Listening without defending — hearing what your child actually responds with
  • Knowing where the conversation may naturally go and how to follow it

Session Outline

1

Saturday morning — orientation and shared context-setting within the group

2

Saturday afternoon — structured exercises using the conversation deck

3

Sunday morning — scenario work, listening practice, and peer feedback

4

Sunday afternoon — personalising your approach and planning your next step

Programme Two

Money Conversations Across Generations

RM 1,490 per person

A four-session evening programme exploring the recurring household money conversations that adults aged 40 and above tend to have with their children, parents, and partners. Each session addresses a different relationship and conversation type. Printed conversation prompts and scenario worksheets are included. Small-group facilitation throughout.

Session Themes

1

The parent-to-child conversation — what you want your children to know about household finances before they need to

2

The child-to-parent conversation — what grown children often need to understand about their parents' household situation

3

The partner conversation — how couples address different assumptions and approaches to household money

4

Returning conversations — how to revisit and continue household money discussions over time without them becoming conflicts

  • Printed conversation prompts included for each session
  • Scenario worksheets for group discussion and home practice
  • Small-group peer exchange between sessions

Programme Three

The Family Letter Cohort

RM 2,890 per person

A ten-week cohort programme in which each participant builds a personal family letter — a written document to share with their family about household values, plans, and expectations around money. Includes a printed reader, weekly facilitated sessions, access to a peer discussion forum between sessions, and a printed closing personal letter binder. Educational only; participants are pointed to licensed practitioners for any binding legal or financial documents.

Weeks three through six — writing and refining each section of the letter with guided prompts and peer feedback

10

Week ten — completing the letter and receiving your printed binder at a closing session

  • Printed reader and weekly session materials
  • Weekly facilitated cohort sessions in Subang Jaya

The Weekend Workshop Is Always the Right First Step

It is a single weekend commitment. You leave with a printed conversation deck and a clearer sense of what you want to say — and what you want to hear back. Many people find that is enough to begin.
